seattlesteve Posted February 26, 2010 Share #44 Posted February 26, 2010 Wow!! The additional kit is a SWWWWEET deal! I thought so too. Just guessing that the battery alone is likely worth at least half that price, it's a steal. The leather hand strap is a nice companion to the leather case. damnsharp Posted February 26, 2010 Share #45 Posted February 26, 2010 seattlesteve, what is the part number of the additional kit? Can you make a photo of the hand strap because I want it too but maybe a Gordy strap is better/nicer.

Can you make a photo of the hand strap because I want it too but maybe a Gordy strap is better/nicer. I'm not so sure it was a special kit with a part number or just something the dealer had put together as a promotion. I'll look into it. No problem on the photo, I'll have something posted soon. larbel Posted February 26, 2010 Author Share #48 Posted February 26, 2010 You can see the wrist strap image on dpreview, the part number for wrist strap is 18713 I think. I remember a thread earlier here about the strap and most think it's ugly
jsrockit Posted February 26, 2010 Share #49 Posted February 26, 2010 Just guessing that the battery alone is likely worth at least half that price, it's a steal. This is Leica we are talking about... I bet that battery will be over $100 US alone once available in the US.
seattlesteve Posted February 26, 2010 Share #50 Posted February 26, 2010 Here are three of the four pieces that were included $90 package. The piece that's missing is the screen protector. As far as the wrist strap is concerned, I'm quite happy with it although there are probably higher quality straps available from some of the boutique strap/case manufacturers out there. Wrist strap: 18713 Battery Pack BP-DC8: 18706 SanDisk Ultra: (this is just your typical sdhc class 4 card)

As far as the wrist strap is concerned, I'm quite happy with it although there are probably higher quality straps available from some of the boutique strap/case manufacturers out there. I put the wrist strap on the camera and like it a lot. There is a "loop" of leather that slides up and will make the strap smaller around your wrist. In a change of pace I put the wrist strap on the left lug (when looking at the back of the camera).
damnsharp Posted February 26, 2010 Share #52 Posted February 26, 2010 Thanks seattlesteve for the photo's and info! Too bad it's not a package deal from Leica. I am wondering where I can get such a nice deal. Now I see the hand strap I definitely go for the Leica one. Oh, which shop it was? Maybe the sell online. The Leica store I purchased from is part of the Schmidt Marketing Group. As far as I can tell, they are based out of Hong Kong and I haven't seen any online sales. Buying from them was a very good experience and I'd recomend them to anyone coming to or traveling through Taipei.
damnsharp Posted February 27, 2010 Share #54 Posted February 27, 2010 seattlesteve a last question ( I guess), how is the connection from the hand strap with the camera? Is it with a metal ring or with a cord (like a gordy strap)?
