carylwithay Posted February 15, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) The waves in the Mavericks this year were the highest ever according to the surfers. I used no camera here. I stopped the action with my computer and then painted them. Hope that is OK. The size of the waves was worth sharing. carylwithay Posted February 15, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted February 15, 2010 Not that I know of but I did think the size of the waves was worth sharing with my friends here. I would have used the Leica if I had been there in person. I also could have used the Leica to shoot the computer image. Caryl

Unfortunately, you need a super tele and a boat to get anything worthwhile as they come down the face as the break is half a mile off shore. See you there next year. carylwithay Posted February 16, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted February 16, 2010 We watched the whole thing on the internet. Hope you did not get wet with that tidal wave. Caryl
Guest WPalank Posted February 16, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 16, 2010 I got caught up to my knees when the first one hit because I was at the competitors warm up tent and I was chasing after their boards as they were floating a way. I place my self slightly inland and on higher ground after that.

roguewave Posted February 17, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 17, 2010 Way cool! Those boards must be very high tech. My old Dewey Weber would never take those loads. Caryl, just delightful.
