D- Lux 2 vs D- Lux 3 or 4

I currently own the D-Lux 2 and was thinking about trading up. Can anyone advise as to the differences

I have the Panasonic version of the Dlux 2 and also the Dlux4 and while the look and handle similarly the performance of the Dlux4 is much better. Noise is lower, focus speed faster, stabilization better and the screen quality higher. You would not regret the upgrade!

 

Also, files from the Dlux4 work with Capture 1 which is a pro grade raw program.

Did not have a Dlux2, but I upgraded from Dlux3 to Dlux4 and consider the improvements worth it. Besides what has already been stated, I like the zoom range much better, it has a hot shoe, and the controls work better for me.

I have a D-Lux 4 and simple love it. The picture quality is quite outstanding for such a small camera and that f2 Summicron lens is amazing

the d-lux 4 is definitely an improvement to the the d-lux 3. much better image quality, less noise and simply the best point and shoot camera

Wider, faster lens. Much better high iso performance. The DLux 4 is the low light champ (still), among the P&S cameras. Upgrade it worth every cent. The technical identical Panasonic LX 3 can be had for less than half the price.

It's actually amazing that the D Lux 4 and the Pana LX3 are still the best small sensor compacts out there, considering their launch dates on the one hand and the pace of innovation in the digital age on the other hand.
