Bird in a Bush

I rarely photograph wildlife. However, I was out testing a few Leica lenses I converted for use on my D700 when this bird landed in a bush next to me. On a whim, I fired off a few frames. This one seems to have turned out okay.

Robert -

 

Go which your gut more often. This is lovely for subject, light, color and detail. I'd consider cropping a bit from the right to move your friend out of dead center, leaving more space in the direction it is looking.

Stuart: thanks for the kind words and the suggestion about the crop ... is this more or less what you had in mind? I thought I'd also tighten the framing a bit to give more emphasis to the bird.

Paul: thanks to you also for taking a look and leaving a comment. Yes - this Elmarit 135mm is a nice lens and I'm enjoy learning what it can do.
