RPS Posted February 15, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I rarely photograph wildlife. However, I was out testing a few Leica lenses I converted for use on my D700 when this bird landed in a bush next to me. On a whim, I fired off a few frames. This one seems to have turned out okay. Advertisement Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Hi RPS, Take a look here Bird in a Bush. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted February 15, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 15, 2010 Robert - Go which your gut more often. This is lovely for subject, light, color and detail. I'd consider cropping a bit from the right to move your friend out of dead center, leaving more space in the direction it is looking.
pauledell Posted February 15, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 15, 2010 Robert, A nice shot. I would say you have a great lens. Paul
RPS Posted February 16, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted February 16, 2010 Stuart: thanks for the kind words and the suggestion about the crop ... is this more or less what you had in mind? I thought I'd also tighten the framing a bit to give more emphasis to the bird. Paul: thanks to you also for taking a look and leaving a comment. Yes - this Elmarit 135mm is a nice lens and I'm enjoy learning what it can do.
