Aha - glad to see this

Jaap - also good to see how you've come to the same conclusion about the bar for holding the battery for the ring light. I've ordered a Nikon SK-7 to do this job for me. Waiting for my CLA'd Viso 2 to come back from Malcolm - and hoping for some sunshine! In the meantime I've got another job based on my new capacity to offer macro. I'll be working with a sculptor who makes very small objects which combine to make larger pieces. She needs high quality shots of work in progress and finished pieces, and I'm now able to provide! So the Viso remains a commercially useful tool as well as being grown-up Meccano!

Thanks to all who have given advice.:)

UPDATE - Viso 2 housing back from Malcolm. He's fitted the high arm which was made for the M3 or M5 (he can't remember which). This now coincides beautifully with the shutter release on the M9 and gives a very smooth experience with mirror lifting / shutter release. He's still working on the adaptation for the 90 Viso 3 prism to fit on the M9. I'll update again when that comes through. Snap of the present setup (sans ring light which is on order) below.

UPDATE - now got the NEEWER Ring Light. Used it both on and off bellows. Stepping rings are very nicely designed and the whole thing feels very stable on the M9 with either 135 or 90.

I've posted some results here:

Chris,

Could you possibly take a photo of something with a lot of deep reds in it, to see how the LED light performs at the red end of the spectrum.

My OTVXO chimney viewer was in the post today, but our incredibly lazy young post lady, decided it was too much effort to drive 50 yards down my drive and ring the door bell, so just left a parcel chit in the post box at the end of the drive. The item will not be at our local post office until 10AM tomorrow morning and I am off to the UK at 7AM - annoying! You know if you complain to her boss, your subsequent post will be delivered into the rubbish bin.

Bummer re postal delivery - I'm off to France on Monday, and have been happy that various things have arrived!

re reds, #1 Natural Light, #2 LED light. Seems to do quite well (and I find Geraniums are horribly difficult... ). The light gave me an extra stop effectively - clearly much more dramatic in lower light conditions.

Hope this helps.
