Latest Apple raw update supports D-Lux 4.

Hi, There should have been an update to the camera raw software too. According to the installation notes, the D-lux 4 support is offered for iPhoto 09 and Aperture 3, it doesn't seem to apply to Aperture 2 though. So I guess we'll all need to upgrade to Aperture 3 to take full advantage of this. I've just checked iPhoto, and that seems to recognise the .RWL files OK. :)

I am overjoyed here! Having been an Aperture user since early beta, I had been dutifully shooting RAW + jpg and importing them into my library from my D-LUX 4, hoping that Apple would support it soon.

This morning I have almost 34K .RWL files that appear in my new copy of Aperture 3. They look great compared to the jpgs (which are the best jpegs I have ever seen from any camera), and Apple has done a fine job of incorporating the distortion correction info from the camera.

PLUS...Aperture 3 now will store both linked audio annotation and the movie files from the DL4...yyay!

I have a bit of culling and editing ahead of me, but with all the great new tools and 64-bit speed I am seeing, I am really looking forward to it.

Sincerely,

KJ Doyle

Thanks for that, i hadn't seen the launch of Aperture three, but believe it will be in store next week as an upgrade, so i'll probably get a copy. I'm just getting used to my D-Lux 4, and taken a few shots in New york and India recently, so if i can work out how to upload a few, then i might just do so. Thanks again for the information.

If these comments are representative then I will wait a bit before switching to A3. Not good publicity for a new launch and it's on Apples website too. I am anxious to get RAW support for my DL4. iPhoto 09 with the new update from Apple provides a limited RAW editing support for the DL4.
