and one more for fun...different lighting...

the AF is very accurate IMO.....really no problem with the EVF

Hi Andy,

where do you aim through the EVF to obtain AF? Do you use the one point setting and aim for the middle, wait for the green light, and then recompose? How hard is it to guesstimate the middle of the frame while looking through the EVF?

Thanks, Peter

Well that's why I'm confused.

I do know EVF as in the one used by the Olympus EP2 and the Panasonic GF1.

But I must have missed something during my absence from this thread for a day. There isn't an EVF for the X1 so what EVF are you guys talking about.

Thanks.

Signed, Confused:confused:

EVF means External ViewFinder for me but some mean exactly what you say Electronic Viewfinder...i.e a separate viewfinder attached to the top of the camera in the hotshoe.

I missed a beat on this one (tho great thread thanks to you guys BTW).

By EVF do you mean the LCD?

Thanks.

Mark

Yes, I understand it can be a little confusing sometimes...

EVF is indeed also used for; ElectronicViewFinder.

OVF is also used quite often; OpticalViewFinder...

Hope this helps.

This is EXACTLY why I stubbornly cling to my X1 AND 36mm Leica viewfinder pro-order: I can't stand any delay in seeing/framing the image before I "snap" the shutter. Every digital camera I have ever handled has a tiny and very annoying delay between moving the camera and painting the new image through the EVF. My camera must have an optical sighting system.

I will cherish the X1 -- should my dealer ever receive one to actually sell me! -- if only for the reason that Leica understood the needs of their longterm M-shooters.

Now I think I understand.

You really meant the optical viewfinder.

I have the Voigtlander 35mm one, though that vintage one is a beauty!

indeed I meant optical viewfinder......a bit of vintage is always nice....adds a bit of weight too:D

cheers
