holgerf Posted February 1, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2010 Bill, it dows work with Aperture. You connect the camera and start the session in the Menu "File–Tether–Start Session". A window appears in which you can do some adjustments for the import and start the session. A HUD appears with the button CAPTURE. Everytime you shoot (either from the HUD or the camera) the image will be imported automatically. Best Holger
geotrupede Posted February 1, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 1, 2010 Holger, I am trying as well with Aperture but no luck. I connect the camera I switch it on I open Aperture The tether menu is not available... What's wrong? May be the cable? (I lost the original cable and I am using a Nikon USB cable, 6 years old but still ok with the Nikon) Something that need to be selected on the M8? Thanks, Giulio

Thanks, Giulio Giulio, if the tether menu is not available (though showing up in grey color) Aperture does not recognize the camera properly. This my be caused by a wrong cable. Question: if you connect the cable can you import images from the M8? Meaning: does Aperture recognize the camera for the importing? geotrupede Posted February 2, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 2, 2010 Thanks for the hint! It must be the cable... I get 'connected' status on the camera display, but nothing on the Mac. I am using a mini usb cable. Sounds like the camera cable is different and Leica is not a standard version... so will need to find one in the shop :-) Thanks again, Giulio
geotrupede Posted February 2, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 2, 2010 Update, tried another cable. The mac can recognise the M8 connected with the Image Capture app. Aperture can Import. Inport now works but still not tether. Ideas? Could it be the cable missing something? Sofware ought to be ok as I tried on two Macs with same results. G. Just the info: • Firmware of my M8: 2.004 • Aperture version 2.1.4 • OSX version 10.5.8 May be you find an idea on a Aperture form. Good luck Holger
