alun Posted February 1, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) For some reason when I empty and re;oad film the frame-counter on my (warrantied) M7 doesn't reset properly. Instead of resetting to about -4 (so that loading and wind-on brings the counter to 0 or 1) it is resetting to about +5. This is a niggling rather than serious problem. Does anyone know of a 'self-fix' solution rather than (yet another) trip to the Leica workshop?
Advertisement Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Hi alun, Take a look here M7 Frame-counter not re-setting. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wizard Posted February 1, 2010 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2010 FYI, the frame counter should reset to -2, not to -4. You might try move the lever sticking out at the bottom of the camera (with the bottom plate removed) back and forth a bit to fully reset the frame counter. If that doesn't work, it has to go to a Leica workshop I'm afraid. Andy
@bumac Posted February 1, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 1, 2010 I had the same problem on my M6. I brought it to Leica to fix it.
alun Posted February 1, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted February 1, 2010 Andy & rw, Thanks forthe info -- in fact I have decided it should go back and have just this moment packed it. It has been to Leica Germany twice (electrics) but there are some minor persisting problems in addition to the frame-counter....and the passport runs out next year (seems a long way off but you know how these things get forgotten!) so I have decided to try and get everything sorted out in one go. Cheers --
