leica dream Posted January 28, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been looking around the internet for a BP-DC5 battery for my V-Lux1 and find that prices from Leica Main Dealers are around £50, but there are others much cheaper even though labelled as Leica. Is there a "preferred supplier" which is favoured in the UK or should I go to my regular Leica dealer and pay their price? Richard
Advertisement Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Hi leica dream, Take a look here Leica Battery sources. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rob_x2004 Posted January 29, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2010 These are the ones you want to get before your six week trip? Just get the ones off ebay that come with a charger. Shouldnt be more than twenty bucks. Grab a few 2 or 4 gig cards too. Last thing you want to have to do on holiday is mess around having to buy stuff. I think the FZ travels with 4 batteries and three cards and the small wall and car charger in a tiny snaplock plastic box.
doubice Posted January 29, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 29, 2010 Richard, The BP-DC5 battery is identical to Panasonic part no. CGR-S006 or CGR-S006E and eBay is full of them. I have been using the cheap replacements in my FZ-30 with absolutely no issues. Gets 3 - 4 batteries for the price of one Leica battery and you're set for the trip. leica dream Posted January 29, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted January 29, 2010 Very helpful, thanks. By the way, any idea what the "E" is for at the end second the part number. I note that Leica has that too. Richard
