jklotz Posted January 22, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 22, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm considering the 28 2.8 Elmerit to go along with my M9. Anybody have samples of it posted on the web for me to see? Thanks

smoody Posted January 23, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 23, 2010 I've posted a full-size image for you to check out because I love that lens so much :-) M9, ISO 1250, wide open I believe, no sharpening. http://10101010.net/churchfull.jpg
adan Posted January 23, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 23, 2010 Just so we are clear - there have been five (5) different "28 2.8 Elmarit" designs made over the years. Did you have a particular model in mind? They each have different imaging characteristics or "looks".

jklotz Posted January 23, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted January 23, 2010 Thanks guys. It's the latest version I'm interested in. ASPH. The shot of the church ceiling was really nice BTW.

jjjjuin Posted January 24, 2010 Share #8 Posted January 24, 2010 i'd add some budget for 28/2. I had a 28/2.8 before and I found 2.8 is not wide enough for certain scence.
adli Posted January 24, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 24, 2010 i'd add some budget for 28/2. I had a 28/2.8 before and I found 2.8 is not wide enough for certain scence. Not fast enough or not wide enough?
downstairs Posted January 26, 2010 Share #10 Posted January 26, 2010 Won't help much but there's an M9 + ElamaritM-asph 28 & Elmarit Canada 28 test on my test page. The bottom two shots. Not wide angle. The asph 28 has a bit more zing in the midtones.
Ed_K Posted January 26, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 26, 2010 Interesting comparison and thanks for sharing, downstairs. The Canadian version does seems milder with slightly less contrast ... nice to know.
jaapv Posted January 26, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 26, 2010 Actually I like the way the non-asph renders the concrete block better.
