walt Posted January 21, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2010 Hi Mick, forums like this are a lifeline for all who still chose to use film, either on a full time or casual basis. I enjoy using it and will for as long as it is available. It is through forums such as this that the message that film is still popular and in demand can filter through to those who make decisions to keep producing it. (hope I'm right). I personally use about 35 rolls a year for personal use - half through my MP and half through the Minilux. If I'm shooting weddings (casually these days) as a hobby more than anything i'd use about 100 + rolls a year. May not sound much but that's my contribution to the medium. VIVA el FILM. Kind Regards, Walt. S Melbourne AUSTRALIA
underground Posted January 21, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 21, 2010 I don't see ever giving up film. As long as they make It I'll shoot it. A lot of people still use film Pro's and Am's so as long as we all buy it they are going to make it. So Have fun and shoot LOTS of film.
Guest maddoc2003jp Posted January 21, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 21, 2010 I am not shooting much film, only about 300 rolls per year but it is fun and as long as film will be available (and affordable) I will continue to do so.
stunsworth Posted January 21, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 21, 2010 A small point, this isn't the LUG. The LUG is a Leica mailing list run by Brian Reid.
groundcontrol Posted January 21, 2010 Share #6 Posted January 21, 2010 What's more encouraging is the number of new/lapsed film users that post on here, wanting to get into shooting film and developing/printing their own pictures.
Hausen17 Posted January 26, 2010 Share #7 Posted January 26, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think I have caught the film bug again. Went digital about 10 years ago and M8 in recent years. But put a few rolls through my Konica Auto S2 over the Xmas break here in NZ and loved the look. Have an offer on an M3 now so looks like I am hooked again.
