Canfred Posted December 9, 2006 Share #1 Â Posted December 9, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) The very old Woods Point service station still selling fuel. As a point of interest a huge forest fire is raging around the small settlement at this very moment. The remaining towns population around 20 People are sheltering in the old goldmine shaft. We hope all will be well and the town survives. May the 3000 firefighters up in the hills fighting this blaze will return safely to theyr families. We live some 50 km away from there the smoke is choking and I am not able to see the house on the next hill. Have a safe Xmas all.

Canfred Posted December 10, 2006 Author Share #4 Â Posted December 10, 2006 Thank you Stuart and Paul , fortunately weather conditions improved given the fire men a reprieve. We had a change come thru dropping the temperature from 42C to 23C in 35 minutes. The fires are still raging but under better control. I hope all will be safe.
