Bruce Robbins Posted January 11, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I've scanned the catalogues below and added them to my website at Photography Matters under the "retro literature" tab. The Leica System 1953 Leica M3 1954 Leica M3 1960 Leica M2 1960 Leica Filters 1960 Leica M4 1971 Leica M5 1971 Leica CL 1973 (small) Leica CL 1973 Leica M4-2 There are also two magazine reviews of the R4 and IIIg. I've got more Leica material I'll be adding in the next week or two including what must be the first English review, dating from 1941, of a IIIc captured in Germany and sent back to the UK for Miniature Camera Magazine's perusal and which includes some contemporaneous hand-written annotations comparing the IIIc with the Contax. I greatly admire Leica cameras but I'll have to warn you that I've also written an article or two that might be a little controversial but please don't let that spoil your enjoyment of the Leica literature. Kind regards, Bruce Robbins

pierovitch Posted January 12, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 12, 2010 Nice site - we have similar equipment tastes. I have never been able to technically analyse why Leica shots have a look but my wife who is an accountant finds the difference clear in looking at prints. The closest I have come is overall clarity - sort of a crisp alpine sunny day look.
