He tells me that his rep has 5 only. The dealer has 3 people on the waiting list and is getting 1. All 5 are black -- too many people complained about the silver cameras, obviously. I ordered silver and will get black. He also tells me that the entire 07 production has been pre-ordered. What a buzz Leica has created for themselves. I am told that in the US they all ship from NJ, and they all go out at the same time. I know that early allocations, of the first version, arrived in France (!) and England first, with Germany only 3rd. Some guys posting in Asia also apparently have 1st allocations cameras. I think Leica tried to distribute pretty envenly. I hope they and we can all live with the furor that will burst out this time if the supply really is as thin as I am told. I would expect that they have budgeted production for about 20,000 cameras. I went to the demo in Montreal on Oct 28th and ordered it then and got it 10 days later. I guess I lucked out, of course it will have to go back for the "upgrade" but thats what you get for being an early adopter.
