sijink Posted January 10, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 10, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I picked up an M7 today locally. The seller told me that he didn't run a roll of film. It is 2004 body. After I brought it home, I found that the shutter was not firing. I thought that the battery that came with was bad. So, I put a new set of batteries and it was firing the shutter. Problem is, when I first turn on the power, the shutter speed indicator in the viewfinder is very bright. But after about 5 seconds, it starts to dim gradually and disappears. After it disappears, it doesn't come back even I press the shutter half way. The shutter fires even though there's no LED indication. It dims faster every time I rewind and press the shutter half way. And, when I remove the batteries and reinstall them, it is very bright for first few seconds and starts to dim again. Has anybody experienced this kind of problem before? Is there something wrong with the PCB inside? Thank you for your adivise.

sijink Posted January 10, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted January 10, 2010 After a day of use, it became better. The display just stays there. It seems like it needs some warm up after long years of time in box without battery? It sounds a bit weird but it came back to normal.
