robsteve Posted December 28, 2006 Author Share #422  Posted December 28, 2006 Sixties Style  I just figured it out. I didn't realize he was referring to the post a couple pages back by Melvin Sokolsky. It is quite an honor to have a photgrapher of that calibre reading our post.  Robert

stevem7 Posted February 20, 2007 Share #424  Posted February 20, 2007 Just figured I would reply to this old thread as I saw an image here with the IR cast and others attempts to fix it which did not look so hot. This took me about 5 seconds in PSCS2 to fix. In the original, the guy on the right, his jacket was purple but the real color was blue. Here is the corrected image with the blue jacket.  I use the color replace took in PS and it works every time (so far) for me. Welcome, dear visitor! marknorton Posted February 20, 2007 Share #425 Â Posted February 20, 2007 Yes, but what about the collar of the guy in the red shirt, or the guy in the background in the fetching lilac/magenta shirt, the girl's jacket slung over the back of the chair and so on? Â Steve, this is old news, we know you can use PS or <substitute your favourite image editing tool name here> to fix it but that pre-supposes you know what the colour is meant to be and are prepared to mess about with every image you take. Â As for 5 seconds, let's see, start PS, open the image, make the correction, save the image. I doubt it. Â All we need is for Leica's filters to be available and V1.10 to be released. He said, hopefully.
wattsy Posted February 20, 2007 Share #426 Â Posted February 20, 2007 It's interesting to revisit this thread just to read some of the rather agressive defensiveness on display ("get a 5d", "get over it", etc.) when interested parties have politely dared to question the validity of the M8 skin tones shown. It clearly was an issue and, in my view, continues to be something that Leica and Phase One do need to work on. I'm hoping to see some improvements in 1.10 and the next update to C1. Guest guy_mancuso Posted February 20, 2007 Share #427  Posted February 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ian maybe so and don't want to rehash it but we also have gotten better using it and we are getting closer . This was just done in Lightroom with filters and yes it is controlled lighting it does render almost right on the money if not there already. I'm about a key stroke from buying Lightroom Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Jamie Roberts Posted February 20, 2007 Share #428  Posted February 20, 2007 It's interesting to revisit this thread just to read some of the rather agressive defensiveness on display ("get a 5d", "get over it", etc.) when interested parties have politely dared to question the validity of the M8 skin tones shown. In this particular thread, some of the exasperation was coming from the fact that no-one should be judging skin tones from these shots were color balanced on a variety of (un-colour-managable) laptops  There are other issues with the camera that we all know about, but in my own portrait shooting, getting exact skin tones that have wonderful texture has been, so far, much easier on the m8 than on comparible systems.  But I'm looking for general colour improvements in the next firmware release, too! wattsy Posted February 20, 2007 Share #429  Posted February 20, 2007 I'm about a key stroke from buying Lightroom  I agree that Lightroom looks promising. The ACR 3.6 profile seems to do a pretty good job (better than the embedded one) in Lightroom. I'm not sure whether to buy Lightroom or stick with C1 (which I find fast and very efficient) and await developments there. C1 LE version 4 is supposed to be out at some point this year (not sure about the Pro version). Lightroom is cheap but still a waste of money if I don't end up using it (I've already been there with Aperture).
Guest guy_mancuso Posted February 20, 2007 Share #430 Â Posted February 20, 2007 Were on the same boat Ian . I like C1 but LR does look interesting. I want a file manage system with some sort of catalog. Just playing round with some of these to see what really works the best. Things are starting to get pretty darn close in most of them. i guess i am looking for the Holy Grail here . I want a program where you put a sensor on your finger and you think what you want to do and it doies it for you. Okay wrong century I know
