ezc203 Posted January 8, 2010 Share #24 Posted January 8, 2010 JJJUIN - I realized your location is in Beijing. Have you check "Zhong Guan Chun" and the camera megastore at "Wu Ke Song"? Just got back from there today and they actually have M9s in stock (Along with some VERY fancy limited edition China's 60th Anni. M8s/DLUX4s/MPs). Played with and M9 and 50/1.4 ASPH. Not only do they have one in stock, but the particular store I visited had SIX (or so she claims, I only saw two, one of each color)!!! Still, considering that people around the world are waiting for their M9s and 50 Luxes for that matter, I was extremely shocked to see such an abundance of supplies here in Beijing. Only problem is that they are selling for 70000RMB or roughly a tad over 10,000 USD. Ridiculous? Absolutely!

magd0328 Posted January 9, 2010 Share #27 Posted January 9, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) So, why are you asking: "When do you think M9 will be smoothly supplied?" What's your intention, if I may ask? Like any good businessman, he presumably wants to know when his revenues will start to drop and therefore when he will have to think of new ways to earn a living. howard_cummer Posted January 9, 2010 Share #28 Posted January 9, 2010 Re M9's in Beijing. They are there because of the price spread between the Beijing price and the Hong Kong list (US$7,350). Most HK released M9's migrate to greater profit points in Beijing and that is the main reason there are virtually no M9's available in Hong Kong. Uh .... you mean the retailers in hk, even when they did get their shares of M9, sold theirs to Bejing retailers for higher profit? No wonder my friends have been waiting for ages

Instead, from US and EU. The Leica dealer in HK is relatively weaker than other continents'.
jjjjuin Posted January 9, 2010 Author Share #31 Posted January 9, 2010 So, why are you asking: "When do you think M9 will be smoothly supplied?" What's your intention, if I may ask? Well, honestly, The current fact is out of my original prediction. I though M9s will be smoothly supplied at the end of 2009. Fact seems like it's still hard to get one. Yes, as a people who's involving this market, I'd say it's necessary to know the variable situation.
Googaliser Posted January 9, 2010 Share #32 Posted January 9, 2010 Another Econ wrench in this model is the fact that there are several hundred individuals who have prepaid dealer in advance and the time value of those funds are increasing the price for them on a daily basis... I wonder how much B & H could make investing all those prepayments in a S&P Mutual Fund? If based on the risk-free interest rate, time value is practically zero here in the West. Opportunity cost is another matter - but would rather have my money in Leica than the S&P at the current level...
jamriman Posted January 9, 2010 Share #33 Posted January 9, 2010 Sources say a batch is coming next week. I started the list game mid Nov. So far I had 5 offered to me. You'll find them in the remote areas where lists are short.
