Correct further the accuracy of the color rendering in the EVF. Firmware 1.1 has been welcomed to reduce the blue-ish color, remains still some magenta artefacts in the darks.

+1 I don't have the cash to jump to the M240 right now, my bodies are working very fine, unlike in early times, when I had to check carefully that the M9 was not running into an endless recording loop. My apologize to early adopters, because on the one side I would still be delighted to be one of them, and on the other I'm happy not to be able to and to help Leica with getting to a debugged firmware. But I will follow all this with exitment, to see how better this body is and possibly migrate at end of year

Totally agree. I goes most probably in the good direction (not simply feeding the old Leica fans, which would be happier with no screen at all...), but to me it is not converged right now. To me, Leica tried to synergize as much as the could with the current needs, including these features of the digital world. And video... I am pretty interesting to see how it performs with a Noct or some of the nice wide angles...

I had printed a pic from Cyclade Island in 60cm x 90cm. You can put your nose on the print without noticing any lack of detail.

I have had my baseplate replaced after seing that during maintenance, the original baseblate had been slightly scratched. But I took care of pointing out that the camera was spotless when dropping it to the maintenance service.

standard doesn't mean similar...

I definitely prefer that situation to the former one (I.e. random crash!). Updated the firmware, seems fine. Will stress test it later.

Pointless to protect a sapphire screen. I have one on my watch, the surrounding is worn but the glass is totally as clean as new. Best regards, Baptiste

1) I have as well to try not peeping to my files while recording them. 2) And see if the problem occurs as well. If yes -> may be a firmware problem (or let say that anyway there is something in the software not dealing properly with writing errors) -> may be a hardware problem rather common btw through the M9 population and touching as well M8.

+1 Some more info: - in the previous firmwares, I have had more inconsistent behavior: a complete serie of pics has been completely messed up. - with the current firmware, this doesn't happen anymore and in that sense the behavior of the camera is more consistent. But submitting the camera to a stress test this week end, I have been able to produce a panic situation 3 times, in which the camera is frozen with red light flashing, and nothing else to do but remove the battery. In that case, the latests ~2 pics are corrupted, I can see a zombi file on the card with 0 MB. The stress test consisted in saturating the buffer + switching from sequential to one-by-one picture mode + viewing the pics. It doesn't crash all the time, but trying hard enough (~playing 10 mins that game), the issue happends. Note that I have tested that with several cards (all sandisk 2x16 -2x 8 Gb). This happens anyway, that I previously removed a pic or not (I had in mind that this could be the root cause, but it is not). I have 2 batteries, but didn't make a check on that side. I believe it is not battery dependant though. During the stress test, the battery used was half empty.

I feel for you as well. Regarding the insurance question, I often read US people praising the insurance system they have. Lucky you guys. Here in France the amount to pay to get the stuff insured is ~ 10% of the price of the stuff. I just don't want to pay 1300€ a year...

For me: D21 - 3pts D16 - 2 pts D9 - 1pt Regards, Baptiste PS: pretty in love with the D21 -
My "dream" kit, under construction, would be 2x M9 (actually, will probably be M9 + M10, the time I finish to pay the 24 Lux ;-) ), 50 Lux ASPH, 24 Lux ASPH, and probably 90 Cron ASPH. Might be completed by a wider lens?

Let me describe something that I would appreciate: use a manual focusing but replace the optical rangefinder by a "numerical rangefinder" (the available techno allowing that would probably be contrast detection) that would for example display in the viewer the sections of the image that are in focus by colorizing it, or whaterver. This ofc on the full range of the lens, not only in the central area. I am sure that there would be challenges to have this system working (easy to separate the in-focus/out-focus area when fully open, but what about landscape pics at close aperture?), but I believe it would bring the RF system to more flexibility (no more tricky recomposition at full aperture for example!)
