Manolo Laguillo Posted January 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 3, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I bought a Summarit-M 75/2.5 for my M8 yesterday, and am testing now how accurate the viewfinder frame is. After putting the camera on a tripod, and making a series of pictures of 2D subjects at different distances, I realise how in-accurate it is! The picture is much larger than what I saw through the viewfinder. Of course, you can crop to have the originally intended framing, but I don't like the idea of 'wasting' pixels, and am very concerned with what happens on the picture's border (too many years working with view cameras...) Is there a way of adjusting it? What is your experience on this? Thank you very much, and best wishes for 2010! Manolo Laguillo
Advertisement Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hi Manolo Laguillo, Take a look here summarit 75/2.5 + M8: viewfinder framing, a guess. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted January 3, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 3, 2010 1. Move post to M8 forum (not you, Manolo - the site administrators will take care of it) 2. yes, well-known, use forum's search function for "M8" and "Framelines" 3. To adjust - pay Leica for upgrade to M8.2 framelines. Or sell M8, buy M8.2 or M9.
