Walt Calahan Posted January 3, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 3, 2010 I enjoy the color version more because of the warm to cool contrast.
Bob Jackson Posted January 3, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 3, 2010 I agree with Walt. Excellent contrast between hot and cold. Beautiful colors as well.
pauledell Posted January 3, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 3, 2010 I think the two are entirely different. I like the colored one best. Paul

farnz Posted January 3, 2010 Share #6 Posted January 3, 2010 I prefer the colour version because it shows 'depth' through the haze on the foothills in front of the mountains which is not so visible in the b&w version. Might I respectfully suggest that you consider applying the 'rule of thirds' to the composition by cropping 2/3 of the featureless sky at the top of the picture, which should add more balance? I particularly like the rich tones in the foreground detail. Pete.

geaibleu Posted January 6, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 6, 2010 Each serves a different purpose: the color version shows the complete landscape, the black and white emphasizes the cuesta, thus the first is for a geographer, the second for a geologist. Does that make eveybody happy?
