Those cases are like trying to play guitar with gloves on, no thanks. says KM-25.

Since all the controls are actually exposed (at least on mine), it's more like trying to play a guitar that's sitting in the case :)

But I like using the camera with the half-case more than I like using the camera without it.

The Ever Ready case is excellent if you are looking for that kind of protection.

Top quality design and materials.

I have one listed for sale in the classified section if you're interested.

I never use one. It seems to me that I always need more things with me, if only a spare battery and a blower brush and cleaning cloth. So a small Billingham bag is ideal, and not much different in profile (weight, size, getting the camera out) to an ERC. But the main thing being that when you do take the camera out of the bag there is nothing to fight against. I'm against anything that even for a moment makes anybody say in their deepest subconcious 'I'll just stick to horizontal format because my ERC flaps about in vertical format'. ERC's are for tourists, not photographers.

My "new to me" M8 came with the Leica half case. I like it, and use a Nikon Leather Pouch Case "CS-9" for the camera in the half-case. The Nikon case was originally made for the F2 and the Nikkormat, and has a red velvet interior. A 9cm F2 Summicron or Nikkor 10.5cm F2.5 LTM will fit on the M8 and go into the pouch case.
