Leicakillen Posted February 9, 2010 Author Share #21 Posted February 9, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought 6 WeinCells 1,35V at Small Battery Company, total cost incl freight 33,60 pounds, about 1/3 of cost here in Sweden, I recommend this dealer. Works great in my Sixtar, LunaSix, Leica M5 and CL!! /Anders
Advertisement Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hi Leicakillen, Take a look here Replacing old 625 batteries. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lars_bergquist Posted February 10, 2010 Share #22 Posted February 10, 2010 The M9 adapter has in fact a Schottky diode built in. Works fine, except in applications where the battery compartment leaves no space for a slightly thicker 'battery'. The Leicameter MR/MR4 is one such case, unfortunately. M5-User Posted February 13, 2010 Share #23 Posted February 13, 2010 Regarding the MR-9 adapter.... Can the 386A battery be used too? Alkaline batts are easier to find for me. I have an M5 with the M6 updated VF, but it does not have the simple adj for the higher 1.5v voltage. I am thinking of getting it done by Sherry K, but then I think the cost is $50 USD and a few weeks without the M5 , Or I could get the MR-9 plus a few 386A batts, and still have my M5. The Wein sells are too much for the short life they have. And, does anyone sell the MR-9 battery adapter in the USA? BTW... I guess this my 1st post. I will put a proper intro post in also, in a bit. My 1st and only Leica, was an M5 was in the 80's (now long gone), Just had to make it my first (again) film RF, A camera with multiple first's for Leitz. lars_bergquist Posted February 15, 2010 Share #25 Posted February 15, 2010 Alkaline batteries are a bad bet for any camera/meter that uses constant battery voltage or current as a reference. Alkalines die a slow and lingering death, while mercury or silver cells tend to pass away very abruptly.
