Hi guys!

Sorry if the issue has been discussed already. I did not find any help in the "search" way.

I remember a post in the M8 forum with a procedure that allowed you to change anything about the folder name an numbering sequence with the M8.

Very useful and helpful.

It does not work with the M9.

You can rename folders, but can't change sequence number the way you could with the M8.

Or is it me?

I can start the folder name with 9, and the picture number into L9yyxxx ok, but is it possible to name a folder M90LEICA and frames LM9yxxx?

do I make sense? am I confusing?

:confused:You can even change the name of the folder on the M9 - you can't on the M8.

true.

I would like to avoid double names on my archive.

so I'll name them L9yyxxx

Since M8.2 files are named L82yxxx

With M9 you can only change file names on a new folder made by you, not on the LEICA folder made by camera by default.

I find.

I wonder whether one could use ExifRenamer V2.1.1 qdev.de - ExifRenamer to rename the Leica files on a Mac?

I should get my M9 hopefully tomorrow and will then find out.

ExifRenamer supported file formats:

JPEG-Pictures (.JPG / .JPEG)

TIFF-Pictures (.TIFF / .TIF)

QuickTime-Videos (.MOV)

AVI-Videos (.AVI)

Soundfiles (.AIFF / .AIF / .WAV)

Minolta Raw Image (.MRW)

Nikon Raw Image (.NEF)

Canon Raw Image (.CRW - only together with .THM)

Canon Raw Image (.CR2)

Thumbnails (.THM)

ExifRenamer works very well for my Nikon files.

actually,

Bridge does the same thing.

But you have to remember to do it all the time you import. Or mess is guaranteed.

And you have to keep track of your last image number...

In other words, it would be easier to use the posted procedure that worked so well for the M8.

I just tried it out on some .dng files and it worked just fine.

I believe this renaming can be integrated with the transfer of images from the camera.

You can change the name of the default folder from LEICA to something else in the camera menu.

You can avoid this problem by using ImageIngester Pro which will rename and assign individual image numbers and dates without you having to remember to do so. Copyright in EXIF too.
