Hot pixel in M9

I discovered the same problem in my almost-seven week old M9, after about five weeks of use. A question for JAAPV: please tell me more about these stuck(hot) pixels and how (and when) they might spontaneously disappear! :)

Another option as opposed to returning the camera to Leica for remapping is to look into the Pixelfixer freeware (www.pixelfixer.org). While there is no M9 profile as of yet, the author has advised me to stay tuned for an update sometime around the first of the year that will include the M9. Wouldn't it be great if a future version of the M9 firmware included an automatic remapping function?

Yes it would - I had a hot pixel on an M8 once which simply disappeared a few weeks later without ever returning - don't ask me why... Anyway hot pixels are said to be cosmic radiation damage and Leica will either map them out for you or exchange the sensor. I would advise you to have your dealer return the camera for you or send it to Leica yourself. It seems CS has quite a fast turnaround nowadays. I tried Pixelfixer - it found thousands of hot pixels on a perfectly good M8 sensor :(
