I've been patient beyond words waiting for a "solution" to mount Leica R lens on a digital body. 4/3rds has no appeal, nor does Nikon , Canon, ???? whatever out there, so here is what I did. One cold miserable night here in Denver, 3 weeks ago, I read somewhere in Googleland that a Maxxum lens mount has 4 holes that will match 4 holes on a Leica lens mount. So, under total impulse, I ruined a Maxxum 35-70mm lens, removing the rear mount from it. Then, I used the Leitax instructions on line to remove the mount from my 50mm Summicron lens. To make a short story even shorter, I took a dremel tool and ground off everything on the maxxum mount that got on the way of attaching it to the Summicron lens, then, mounted the Maxxum mount on the Leica lens, and it locked right on to my Maxxum 7d, upside down, but it mounted. The next morning under bright winter sunlight, I took about 20 awsome shots with it, Then, I reversed the process and put my Summicron mount back on my Leica lens. That's the story....

A Leica R body mount can be grafted to a Minolta. A friend did it for wedding work 20+ years back so he could do incamera double exposures.

You need to shim and collimnate the transplant.

Now knowing this much, can the R mount go on a Sony digital A900 ?

leitax.com sells replacement flanges to fit Leica-R lenses on Sony cameras.
