MotherPanda Posted December 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I will go to Seoul, Korea and know that the weather is around -5C - 7C. Does C-LUX3 work well in such cold weather? Also, I found that the battery of C-LUX3 is not available. I'm in Hong Kong, and anyone knows that where can get this battery? People told that Leica stops to produce old model of battery once they produce a new camera. Is that right?

stuny Posted December 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2009 The C-Lux-3 uses the same battery as the C-Lux 1 and C-Lux-2 and the Panasonic equivalents. Go to a good electronics store in Hong Kong - preferably one that sells Panasonic/Lumix cameras - and show them the battery you have. I've successfully used the Panasonic versions of the C-Lux-2 in weather that cold and colder. Keep it in a pocket when not actively using it.
delnerdo Posted December 23, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 23, 2009 Lithium ion batteries lose functionality when cold. That will give you more trouble than the rest of the camera. Warm it in your hands or near your body, and it should be okay.
