Advertisement Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Hi carylwithay, Take a look here DLX4 update 2.2 problem. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wbarker Posted December 20, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 20, 2009 Don't unzip the bin file downloaded onto the Mac. Just drag the unzipped file to the desk top and check that files size. If okay, then install it unzipped onto the SD root directory.
carylwithay Posted December 20, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted December 20, 2009 What I downloaded 5.8 and that is what it said on the Leica site. I installed the 5.8 and so far everything works fine. There must be a mistake in the directions. Has anyone found a size greater than 5.8? Caryl
wbarker Posted December 20, 2009 Share #4 Posted December 20, 2009 When I down loaded the bin file and looked at the file info it showed 6.1 mb on disk. Is your download ver 2.1 or 2.2? The latter is a slightly larger file. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! carylwithay Posted December 20, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted December 20, 2009 Oh my. Where did you find that? I installed the 5.8 but maybe I am missing something. I should call Leica on Mon and find out what to do. Caryl

Particularly if you are on Snow Leopard vs another get info shot on Leopard. http://blog.macsales.com/1852-snow-leopard-changes-they-way-we-look-at-gigabytes-and-megabytes-and-kilobytes-as-well Which Operating System are you running - what about you wbarker? I'm on 10.6.2 and a get info shows 6.1 MB on disk (6,096,384 bytes) I would guess if you are on a mac you are running an OS prior to 10..

jimbo035 Posted December 20, 2009 Share #8 Posted December 20, 2009 I'm on 10.4.11 and had no problem whatsoever the Mac automatically unzipped the download to DLX_22.bin Then I 'right-clicked' on DLX_22.bin for Info, and the panel that came up had 5.8MB at the top, but lower down under "General" it said 5.8 MB on Disk (6,097,034 bytes) QED/Quod Erat Demonstrandum

Snow Leopard changes they way we look at Gigabytes (and megabytes, and kilobytes, as well). | Other World Computing Blog Which Operating System are you running - what about you wbarker? I wonder if there is a small file size difference between the firmware ver. 2.1 and 2.2 which was just posted? I also, noted that if I double clicked the file that was unzipped by the OS and put into my download folder, there were two files: a Bin and one more. The two together were the 6 MB file. You don't see the second file in the download, if you just drag it to the SD card. Bill
