stuny Posted December 5, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 5, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the river lowlands of Papua New Guinea it’s so hot that the young children are usually dressed like this. Without fail they delighted in greeting us and being around us, frequently amused when we’d play with them (one group had sling shots and fell down laughing when I feigned being hit by rocks. Another group behaved similarly when our new Brit friend Peter Jackson would lumber after them like a demented oaf). More from the Sepik River area on the 2nd & 3rd PNG pages of our site. stuny Posted December 7, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted December 7, 2006 Rob - It was terrific, and as you know, not that far from home, for you. However, it is remarkably expensive for a thrid-world destination, largely because of the cost of internal flights. Barbara has been so busy that she still hasn't finished her extensive notes from the India trip, November 05. It will be a while before she gets to the PNG notes. In absense of the notes, you know where to find me if you've any questions. BTW: We were in Sydney at the time of the Cup. I had no idea how universal its appeal is with the Ozzies, but will post some shots from that time before long. For now, you can see some on the second page of "Australia after PNG" photo gallery.
