MPJMP Posted December 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Like the Prodigal Son, I have just returned to the D-Lux 4 as my one and only digital camera. I bought one a few months back to serve as a compact digital companion to my MP film camera, but returned it after just one weekend because I thought there might be something else out there better suited to me. In short, I haven't found anything on the market that I would prefer to the D-Lux 4 for a compact digital camera. Every night I briefly look at the D-Lux 4 gallery on Flickr and continue to be impressed at the pictures people can produce with this little camera. So.... I just ordered another D-Lux 4 along with leather case and a spare battery. Should be here on Thursday (my birthday!!). And just so my MP doesn't get jealous, I also made sure to order a pack of 400H for good measure. -Mike

I just came from a holiday party where it performed amazingly well - and the LCD works great indoor. Alberto

markrune Posted December 21, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 21, 2009 I went for the Panasonic LX3 (as it was on a very good deal) and have to say it is a fantastic little camera, and i tend to use it more than my Nikon D300, M8 or C-Lux1. The Leica lens is great and it is so small that you can pop it into a pocket and is almost silent whne doing street photography:)

MPJMP Posted December 22, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted December 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Switch off the fake shutter noise and it's totally silent As embarrassing as this is to admit, if Leica were to make the fake shutter noise on the D-Lux 4 sound like an M3 at 1/60th (like they did on the X1) I might actually use it!
