GarethC Posted December 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm leaving for two weeks on Saturday. Your thoughts on which 3 lenses to take to Mexico. Some street, mostly small groups and portraits and maybe, just maybe a landscape or two. Any three focal lengths except 21mm, 40mm or 75mm. 12mm to 90mm are the choices. Which three would you take? Any three would be a light enough kit for me.

Jiukuic5609 Posted December 17, 2009 Share #4 Posted December 17, 2009 I would take 35, 50 and 90mm. But then again if you had a Noct 50 or something I would take a 50 Summicron, 50 Noctilux and 90 Elmarit or Summicron. OR: 24/28 - Elmarit 35 - Summicron 90 - Summicron OR: 24/28 - Elmarit 35 - Summicron 90 - Elmarit -- For Lean and mean
ezc203 Posted December 17, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 17, 2009 I'm in a similar situation. Heading home to Beijing for the winter season. The equipment for my trip: M4-P & 50mm (I LOOOOOOOOVE this combination. I can't say it enough) M8 & 35mm, 90mm. If I was to suggest a 3-lens combo for the M8, I'd say go with: 21mm (in your case, 24mm), 35mm, and 90mm. This covers all your bases: 21mm = wide, scenery, landscape; 35mm = walk around, portraits, etc; 90mm tele, and faux-macro. Just my 2 cents.

SJP Posted December 17, 2009 Share #8 Posted December 17, 2009 28, 50, 90 obviously as it has a roughly even spread in ratios (1:2 approx)
Photon42 Posted December 17, 2009 Share #9 Posted December 17, 2009 28/50/90 or 18/28/50, depending on you favoring wides or teles
danyves Posted December 17, 2009 Share #10 Posted December 17, 2009 24/35/
GarethC Posted December 17, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted December 17, 2009 18/28/50 seems to be the most appealing although 24/35/50 seems to work as well.
