2manytoys Posted December 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I've just become a new member to the Leica Forums. I stumbled upon this site due to my recent (2 weeks ago) purchase of the Panasonic LC1. I'm a Canon user normally for film and digital and was looking for something a little more portable/discrete for street/family and what have you. Originally, I was set on purchasing a Canon G10, but my local classifieds had an ad for the Panasonic LC1. After reading different reviews and user comments, I decided to get it despite some of the listed cons. I was able to get it for $350 Canadian and it came with the original stuff plus 2 extra batteries, a car charger a heliopan filter and a leather half case and strap from LeicaTime's Luigi Cresenza. Not a bad deal I would say! I've only had time to take a few pictures, but I have fallen in love with this camera! There seems to be a certain... something about it that just gets you. Ergonomics are fantastic! Picture quality... outstanding (5mp)! I also just purchased (just a mere 10 minutes ago) the DMC-LW69 wide angle converter for $216 Canadian.... I'm very excited.... this beats my other plan of buying a 17-55 lens for my Canon 40D... I would have been $850 US I suppose that doesn't tell you a lot about me though... I live in Aylmer, Quebec just the other side of the river from our nations capital, Ottawa. I've been practicing photography since the late 80's. I have way to many hobbies such as collecting watches, woodworking, restoring motorcycles and of course photography. I also apparently have a tendency to go on to much.... I will stop here and say that I look forward to learning from all of the fellow members here and who knows... maybe I will end up purchasing a "real" Leica one of these days!!
