nomad Posted December 13, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a collapsible 50mm Summicron screw mount with an adapter which is well and truly stuck in place. I use this on my MP with super results, However, I would like to try it on my llla, but try as I might, I can't remove the adapter. I bought this lens some years ago with the adapter on and the dealer told they had also tried getting it off as well with no luck. I have tried a make shift strap wrench from a leather belt, tried heating it, soaked it in WD40 etc as well as the normal way of unscrewing it on my M camera. Were any of these lenses released from the factory with adapters magically fixed to them? Just a thought. I can't see any signs of glue or screws anywhere. Thoughts/suggestions welcome. earleygallery Posted December 14, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 14, 2009 I have read that some early M mount lenses were in fact thread mounts with adapters fitted and fixed on with a small screw around the side, so look very carefully for signs of a screw. You're sure it is a screw lens?
