jbl Posted December 12, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere... if I put a 1.25x magnifier on my MP's 0.72 VF, will I still be able to see the metering dots? Thanks! Jonathan
Advertisement Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Hi jbl, Take a look here VF magnification on MP. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Marty Posted December 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 12, 2009 Not a direct answer but with the 1.4 magnifier on the M9 0.68 VF you can easily see the information, if you look slightly "over the edge" i.e. with your eye slightly above center looking down, not straight through. However you can do this even looking through the VF from a distance. I guess it will be slightly better with a 1.25 magnifier.
khiromu Posted December 12, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 12, 2009 I use 1.25x magnifier on MP, and yes, I can still see it easily.

jbl Posted December 13, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted December 13, 2009 Thanks, everyone. One more question that occurred to me, can you still see the 35mm framelines with the 1.25x on? -jbl

jacksparrow Posted December 13, 2009 Share #7 Posted December 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wear glasses, and I can see the 35 mm framelines, but they are in the periphery of what I see through the camera. 50 mm are ideal though. e
menos I M6 Posted December 18, 2009 Share #8 Posted December 18, 2009 You could try also a x1.4 magnifier, when shooting a 50mm lens. There is nothing greater, than shooting with both eyes open with a clear 1:1 view, while focussing ;-) I use a 1.4 magnifier on my M6 0.72. If the 35mm is your widest lens, you could think about getting a 0.85 MP (assuming, you don't have the camera yet) and try a x1.25 magnifier with a 50mm lens. The Leica viewfinder magnifiers are a wonderful addition to the cameras! I will get me a x1.25 magnifier for my 0.85 M7 shortly.
jbl Posted December 19, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted December 19, 2009 Thanks, everyone. I got the 1.25x for my 0.72 MP and, wow! That's a huge help for 50mm! Jonathan
