brucek Posted December 11, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anybody have recommendations for warm gloves that can be worn and still allow good feel and control using these cameras? I have a pair of the Lowepro Photo Gloves and while they're great they are definitely not adequate when temperatures get down in the 20s (F) with any kind of wind. Thanks! dave_d Posted December 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 11, 2009 Bruce, The Rochester, NY cold is getting to me too. The Deluth Trading Company has some unique gloves for cold weather, this one looks like it might be a good one: Glomitts – Men's Force Nine Glomitts - Duluth Trading Company I have bought some things things from DTC on occasion and the quality is generally good and the prices fair. brucek Posted December 12, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted December 12, 2009 Thanks guys, but I've tried gloves similar to the DTC gloves (which are essentially gloves with no fingers) and I just can't keep my hands warm enough with them, though maybe I could combine them with the Lowepro gloves. Thanks for the suggestions, though.
elgenper Posted December 12, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 12, 2009 Many years ago, I bought a pair of Helly-Hansen "shooter´s mitts" that work for me, even in the Swedish mountains in mid-winter (-20 deg C and below...). They´re made of thick fiber pile, without any shell, and they have slots where you can temporarily stick out the number of fingers you need for a particular task, and then withdraw them into the warmth again. They´re mitts, not gloves, so you can´t do anything fiddly with the fingers inside. They work great with my Digilux 2 (and I´m sure with my M9 when it arrives...), but with the D-Lux 4 you have to be careful not to cover the lens with parts of it.
