atufte Posted December 9, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted December 9, 2009 Nooo.... Can we have a sub-forum for all the suggestions to have a sub-forum...? Regards, Bill This is not just any "suggestion"...it is an important part of the Leica system, and should be included as part of just that, in a Leica User Forum, if not you can call this user forum JPLUF "Just Parts of the Leica system, User Forum"... mgcd Posted December 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 9, 2009 Unfortunately, we R users have historically been second class Leica citizens... So don't hold your breath Alexander...
roguewave Posted December 9, 2009 Share #6 Posted December 9, 2009 Love your idea. Don't be surprised to see a new "R SOLUTION", now that Leica is flush with cash. I predict a new full frame, small format back for us with R glass & other lenses like 4/3 that would be interchangeable with Lumix products. Yes, a Leica designed R digital full frame camera with a Kodak or smaller S2 type sensor/processor combo. I believe. Lots of money to be made by making it interchangeable with other lenses like Canon/Nikor.

leicamann Posted December 10, 2009 Share #9 Posted December 10, 2009 Unfortunately, we R users have historically been second class Leica citizens... So don't hold your breath Alexander... Conrad..... did you not read Irwin Putz's conclusions at the end of his most recent article.... he said that Leica never really liked the Reflex system to begin with and later in September the CEO of Leica in a press conference said..quote" the R system was an unfortunate sidetrack..." so let me see 1965 to 2009 of pure wasted money and resources on Leica's part. But also come on Conrad ,,,we ALL know the glass and optics in the M system is vastly superior, best to let the R system wither on the vine, now that the S2 and M9 are out;) So when are you selling off all your "R " gear to get the M9? Cheers, JRM

NB23 Posted December 10, 2009 Share #13 Posted December 10, 2009 You know what strikes me most? I understand people complaining to a company and not being heard (the usual "Are you listening Leica?" comes to mind)... But what's the cost of an R subforum to the forum owners? Something like 10$ A few clicks? What's more natural then a R subforum in a forum that likes to think it is the "official" Leica forum? An R subforum is mandatory, IMO. rob_x2004 Posted December 10, 2009 Share #14 Posted December 10, 2009 If its a users forum whats wrong with having an R section for participation and info exchange. If its a gear heads forum why bother since the R is dead and buried for those guys.
rvalarcher Posted December 10, 2009 Share #15 Posted December 10, 2009 why not a R system sub forum ? I can see some advantages to this : - a way not to "pollute" others sub forums ? -a faster way to look for info about R system as we will no more need to navigate between others sub forums ,"customers" ,international" or "S2" ones - and there is a lot of R lenses and R bodies and 5000 dmr still working ! It's just a suggestion to help R users not to feel abandoned !
RPS Posted December 10, 2009 Share #16 Posted December 10, 2009 I also support the idea of a forum dedicated to R-users. Those of us who own considerable R-equipment have our own set of topics and issues that tend to be of interest only to us. Right now, we tend to get lost in the shuffle. It's pretty clear to me that there are many more of us who own, and use, R-gear than there are visitors here who own and use a Leica X1.
bill Posted December 10, 2009 Share #17 Posted December 10, 2009 But what's the cost of an R subforum to the forum owners? Something like 10$ A few clicks? So now you are an expert Webmaster? why not a R system sub forum ? I can see some advantages to this : - a way not to "pollute" others sub forums ? -a faster way to look for info about R system as we will no more need to navigate between others sub forums ,"customers" ,international" or "S2" ones - and there is a lot of R lenses and R bodies and 5000 dmr still working ! It's just a suggestion to help R users not to feel abandoned ! I can see some disadvantages: - another place to keep an eye on - another place to administer It's pretty clear to me that there are many more of us who own, and use, R-gear than there are visitors here who own and use a Leica X1. ...and the trend is...? Let me be clear; I have R, M and LTM equipment, digital and film. I am a happy R user and am looking forward to the promised "digital solution". I actively dislike having multiple "holes" down which to look. I don't see any "compelling event" ritght now that would necessitate a separate R sub-forum. In other words, nothing has changed from a day, a week or a month ago, except for the silent drip of people selling out of a currently defunct system. So until something changes, I vote NO. Regards.
