ppolla Posted December 8, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Would you dare doing this? I made some calculations and buying on in UK and shipping over to netherlands is quite a bit cheaper.....but I am a little afraid of the package getting damaged....it is fine optics and electronics after all. What are your expereinces? Thanks, Paolo
Advertisement Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Hi ppolla, Take a look here shipping Dlux 4 by post. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bill Posted December 8, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 8, 2009 Is it coming from a reputable dealer? They know how to pack. Get it insured, and just get on with it. It will hardly be the first camera consigned to the post Regards, Bill
integrale Posted December 8, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 8, 2009 Mine was shipped from the UK to Denmark (from harrisoncameras.co.uk; not the lowest prices but very good, and personal, service). I have had a few dSLR (e.g. D300), several Nikkor and R-lenses and a Televid shipped without any problems, but maybe I've just been lucky? Get it insured and go for it! ppolla Posted December 8, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted December 8, 2009 apologies for the stupid questions...do you buy insurace from the photo company that is shipping the products, or do you have to buy one independently? P
bill Posted December 8, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 8, 2009 You tell them you want it insured. They will typically charge you a little more. They should be able to give you a TRACKING NUMBER - this is your guarantee that it is insured, and that you have a comeback if anything goes wrong.
