Here is "one" photo...of course "scrunched" for this browser..

Please go to the link to see the full Gallery and of course much better resolution , detail and color.

All are taken using Kodachrome 25 and K64, scanned using the latest from SilverFast AI 6.6..thank you SilverFast.

SilverFast was the only scanning software that did not"characterize" the Kodachromes and did not "drop" the highlights, color accuracy was spot on..all I had to do is remove dev blemishes and the odd piece of dust spec.

If you are serious about your Kodachromes and have a decent dedicated film scanner, I highly recommend getting SilverFast 6.6..I know its pricey:rolleyes:...... I guess it depends how frustrated you want to get?

Anyhow..enjoy.. I think the perfect color therapy for this cold weather we are having

Cheers, JRM

Hello John

Lovely selective focus and juxtaposition of colours with nicely opposed dark and light tones from background to foreground. The reds are beautifully controlled and like you say, the highlights are intact - nice texture at the point of focus, too.

John, on my monitor I get an almost 3-D effect which is a testament both to Kodachrome and your technique. A superb photograph.

I won a copy of Silverfast in the recent K64 competition here.

I have to say that it has one of the worst interfaces of any software I have used this millennium, and frankly, didn't give me any better scans than Vuescan, using the Q-60K3 calibration slide.

Beautifully done by John though - he obviously knows something I don't, or uses a scanner that I don't. :)

Thank you everyone for taking the time to view the picture and go to the Zenfolio site.

Andy, yes Silverfast CAN be clunky...but I''ve gotten past that.... it doesn't bother me, especially when I get results like this. As for the VueScan option,,yes.. at times it can be excellent.. but its temperamental....I would say..every 10 times....5 times it will "characterize" my K64 and K25..leaving me out of options and in a great deal of consternation .

Cheers, JRM
