rdubois Posted December 6, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) ....or anyone else who's an electronic wizard: I might, after all, fall victim to an M9 and would want to keep my M8u as backup. Can the m8 be mothballed without a battery for a long time? I presume there's an internal battery which is fed by the rechargeable battery and what I mean is there a limit before the internal battery would deplete to a point where it will cause problems by losing firmware, profiles and whatever else needs to be powered by the internal battery? In other words, how often should the main battery be inserted and for how long? Many thanks Dubois

jaapv Posted December 7, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 7, 2009 just pop in a battery every three months, leave it in for a few hours and fire the camera a few times. That should be all that is needed. Oh yes - pack some Silicagel with it.
