andrehk Posted November 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 30, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear forum members, this is my first post. Please forgive me if I am asking a question that has been addressed several times. This morning I tried to clean my dirty sensor using sensor swab type 3 with eclipse E2 solution. After first try, I noticed two almost perfect circles visible at f16 on the sensor . Although I managed to get rid of some dusts ( but not completely ) , I was not able to eliminate the circles even after using many swabs. I will post an image hopefully next time, but I am wondering if anybody has an idea what might have happened during wet cleaning? Do I need to worry about or just ignore it and continue to take pictures? I really will appreciate your help. Andreh

jaapv Posted November 30, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 30, 2009 I suspect your swipe was far too wet. It must be the resisue of sizable drops. If you cannot get it off it might be time to ask a professional camera repair shop toclean it.

dpattinson Posted November 30, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 30, 2009 If you mean that there are two circles, which stay in the same place even if you use several wipes - then I suspect that it's not residual cleaning fluid. It may be shutter oil, which was the case in my M8, which shows up as quite round spots on the image. In that case it could be that you are not pressing hard enough when using your swabs. In any case, it's probably worth doing as suggested and getting it professionally cleaned once.
