MacSpikes Posted November 26, 2009 Share #8 Posted November 26, 2009 What are those filters? The B+W looks like a UV filter, but what's the small Leica box? By the way: enjoy this stunning combo. I am curious if the lens will dwarf your M9...
Overgaard Posted November 26, 2009 Share #9 Posted November 26, 2009 That's the way to celebrate ... whatever, Christmas or not. I like the pictures you took, especially that the wood goes with the colors of the boxes. That Noctilux just looks damn good, the feeling of such two exclusive instruments must be incredible. Very nice images of "the goodies" too. overgaardcom - I use a "thumbs up" grip on my m8, shoot with my left eye and wear glasses. No problems at all. A great accessory. . . . doug_m Posted November 27, 2009 Share #17 Posted November 27, 2009 Wslam, You will really enjoy this combination- it is fantastic. However, if you are new to the RF photography and the M system be aware that it may take some getting used to. The creativity that the shallow DOF provides when shooting at 0.95 is exceptional as is the low light aspect. On the other hand, if this is your first and only lens you have chosen a very challenging lens to enter the RF world with. Focusing is much more difficult than with most other M lenses. The fact that the Nocti 0.95 is such a light magnet with so much glass seems to provide certain other challenges as well. Your posted photos are very nice and it is obvious that you are skillful. Therefore, if you persist the rewards with this lens will be great. If you get discouraged, keep the Nocti and buy another smaller and easier to use lens to help you get used to Leica rangefinder photography. If you are not new to Leica or RF photography, my apologies for this discourse. All the best, Doug
dfarkas Posted November 27, 2009 Share #18 Posted November 27, 2009 Anyone wearing glasses who've tried the Thumps Up. I just wonder if it's going to be in the way or scratch the glasses? And it just looks so good I want one. Thorsten, I wear glasses and use the CSEP-1. Works great. No scratching. Go for it. The Thumbs Up is probably the one accessory I couldn't do without.
