Chrome lenses: which are chrome over brass?

I always thought Leica used chrome over brass construction on their silver lenses. However, some of the internet descriptions refer to aluminum being used as the base on some silver glass. Could someone kindly clarify this for me?

AFAIK only 3 recent silver lenses are made of silver anodized aluminium:

the 28/2 Asph, 28/2,8 Asph and the 200 limited 35/1,4 Asph made for the M7 Hermes.

Leica Camera AG - Special Editions

Leica 28mm f/2.0 SUMMICRON-M ASPH Silver Anodized Version Lens

Leica adds Hermès M7 :

All the other are made of chrome over brass, including earlier 35/1,4 Asph.

But we can see a pattern here...

:(

Almost all the Leica lenses with chrome finishing are indeed made with chrome over brass: easy to verify for there is a significant difference in weight from the corresponding black (chromes are heavier : ex. 21 2,8 asph 300 vs. 415g - Elmarit-M 90 410 vs. 560g)

Some recent lenses, often referred to as "silver" are on the contrary aluminium-made, with no significan difference in weight from the black: I think it's so the Summicron 28, the "special" Elmarit asph 28, maybe (not sure) also the Macro-Elmar 90 and the "old" Tri-Elmar. The Summilux 50 asph, though "new", is classic chrome brass (335 - 466 g)
