andybarton Posted January 21, 2010 Author Share #142 Posted January 21, 2010 Getting towards £6,000 folks. I think that's a great effort.
stunsworth Posted January 25, 2010 Share #143 Posted January 25, 2010 We're now in the last week, so please keep those photographs coming. We've now raised almost 6,000 GBP which is fantastic! Please also ensure that they are within the submission size. I am still receiving files that are much larger than the 960x960 pixel maximum. Any such images will be reduced in size before being added to the judging website. Thank you to everyone who has contributed, or is about to.
stunsworth Posted January 25, 2010 Share #144 Posted January 25, 2010 We've now passed 6,000 GBP. Can I extend a great thank you to everyone who has contributed. I know I keep saying this, but I never though we would be able to raise so much money for a good cause. Keep those photographs coming!
andybarton Posted January 28, 2010 Author Share #145 Posted January 28, 2010 The response to the LUF Book has been absolutely fantastic, and on behalf of everyone involved behind the scenes I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed so generously. As of this morning, we have raised around £6,400 (roughly $10,000) for this excellent cause. Amazing. The closing date for monetary contributions is Sunday 31st January, at midnight GMT. So, if you have been wavering, you still have time to contribute both your cash and your best shots. Steve Unsworth has agreed to take the emailed photographs until midnight GMT on 1st February, so as to capture all the time zones west of Europe Then, the fun begins for the judging panel, assessing all the hundreds of entries that we have received. Thanks once again for making this such a successful initiative.

You've got until midnight on the 1st of Feb GMT - that's one minute after 23:59 on Monday in case you were wondering whether midnight is at the start or end of a day. bill Posted January 31, 2010 Share #149 Posted January 31, 2010 £6740...! Seven thousand pounds is possible... and would be a fantastic feat! Still time to contribute - and donate! Thank you so much to all those who have done so, so far. What a tremendous response. Thank you. Bill
andybarton Posted January 31, 2010 Author Share #150 Posted January 31, 2010 Just a reminder to those people still to pass on their submission to Steve Unsworth. 960 x 960 pixels max. 290kb max State the category in which you wish the photograph to be considered. Please make sure your forum name is obvious in your email and include the receipt from JustGiving, which includes your name. With over 500 submissions so far, please help to make Steve's life as easy as possible in assembling the submissions for judging. Huge files (including some with dimensions in excess of 5,000 pixels) and no receipts etc make it extremely difficult. Thank you.
stunsworth Posted January 31, 2010 Share #151 Posted January 31, 2010 I'd just like to add one thing. The Chapter/Sub-forum information doesn't refer to your favourite part of the Leica User Forum - such as "Digital M8" - it refers to the chapter in the book you'd like your photograph to be considered for. These are listed in the first message of this thread.

stunsworth Posted January 31, 2010 Share #154 Posted January 31, 2010 Thanks Ian, it's been received. I'm tending to process the received photographs in batches, so you should get an email tomorrow. Everyone who sends a submission should receive an email from me confirming that the photograph(s) have been received. If you submitted your photographs more than a couple of days ago and haven't received anything let me know at the submission email address and I'll see if I've received your photographs. I've only had one problem so far sending the confirmations, and that involved someone whose email is set up so that it rejects emails from anyone who isn't in his address book. stunsworth Posted February 1, 2010 Share #157 Posted February 1, 2010 It's 10:25 am in the UK. You have just under 14 hours to submit your photographs before the closing point is reached.
amoz Posted February 1, 2010 Share #158 Posted February 1, 2010 Has there been a site set up to show all submitted pictures? I read that being announced but seem to have missed the link. Thanks a lot!
stunsworth Posted February 1, 2010 Share #159 Posted February 1, 2010 There is no site at the moment. I'll be creating that once the photographs have been selected for the book. All the submitted photographs will be displayed - with the exception of a few people who have asked that their photographs not be included in any public website. Andrew Spackman Posted February 1, 2010 Share #160 Posted February 1, 2010 I think (I hope) my entries are in now. Thanks to Steve and everyone involved in this great project. I'm looking forward to buying the book whether or not I'm lucky enough to have a photo selected. Andrew
