Hi,

I'm look for a good slide projector from my old slide collection.

I'm considering most brands (Leica would be nice, but doesn't have to be). I wouldn't really want to spend more than 500 euros.

What would anyone recommend?

Many thanks in advance, Mark.

The well-known Leica Pradovit PC with Colorplan-P2 2.5/90mm is sold in Germany for € 449 at least at Meister in Hamburg/Berlin.

I too have the same problem with my old Aldis 505 being well past it's best at 50 years old!

It is one of those where it gets so hot in use that one could almost boil a kettle on it.

I am prepared to digitize my collection, but really want a digital projector which one can feed a DVD or flash drive into instead of needing a laptop.

Hallo,

for my professional slideshows I use 3 leica RT-s, with different lenses between 150 and 90 mm. I bought these used a few years ago.

For reserve I have one Kodak Ektapro 5020, who is nearly the same as the RT-s. But I had to pay only around 160 Euro, used - here in Germany. But without any lense.

These very professional slideprojectors are used very cheap to get. And they are better made than the new "amateur"-projectors. And for a used RT-S, maybe you have to pay around 250 to 400 Euro.

Greetings

Heinz

Thanks for the replies.

Is the Kodak 2050 also worth considering?

Best regards, Mark.

Hello Mark,

I think - but I´m not sure, that was the topmodell before the new Ektapro´s. So, when it is then a older projector. And maybe you have to think, are there any possibilities to repair - if necessary. But if it is in good condition, also these were very very professional made.

And as 2050 it must be has a bright lamp also - I think of 250 watt. O.k., the - for example 5020, is brighter. But at home you don´t need the difference.

Has it also autofokus, and is it o.k.?

What I want to say: It is worth to think about it. Especially when the prize is o.k. In Germany I just bought a used Ektapro 5020 for around 170 Euro. And that was a good prize - for the seller :D. They are really cheaper to get. But I needed it, for reserve - for my slideshows. And I thought also about - and thinking further, about a Leica RT-s. But for these I should have to pay the double and more. So my Ektapro was "cheap" - I hope.....

Regards

Heinz
