Over the last couple of weeks Iv been on the hunt for a second Lecia M body to go along with my Lecia M3 15 Voit, 35 1.4 summilux and my 50 1.0 Noct. Im happy to announce my Lecia kit has grown by "one" with the addition of a M6. I seriously tested a M9 as well as a M7 and nothing "felt" better for me than the Lecia M6. I was lucky enough to make a new friend in the process of the deal and have already made a deposit for a second M6 with .85 view finder in black with TTL. Somehow, I also came home with a silver 21 F4 Super Angulon:p. So far my experience with the Lecia system and everyone associated with this wonderful system has been 100% positive. As if the camera and lens wasn't enough my new Lecia pal gave me a Lecia M photography book by Brain Bower which is just beatiful in images and information on the M system.

Hi there,

I own an M6 too, but also bought an MP. You may want to consider an MP - it has a clearer viewfinder than the M6 and is better built too. Cheers.

Thanks for the heads up. MP hey , Hmmm:rolleyes:. By better view finder what do you mean? Brighter, bigger, better patch. I notice that the M6 view finder is measurably brighter than my M3. If the MP is even brighter still than Im in. Im loving shooting with the M System. I just came up from shooting some low light portraits of my kids in the underground parkade while they where playing ball hockey. The M3 and the Noctilux and a roll of XP2 film is all I needed. Im starting to buy into the less is more mental state. Being able to use 1/60 second in such really low light conditions with 400 ISO is wonderful thing.

I like my M6 so much I treated her to an MP finder upgrade. Its on it's way back to me from DAG Camera in Wisconsin. He's given her the upgrade and a CLA. Should be like new now, only better. The original M6 finder really falls short of the finders in my M3 and M8. I'm hoping its as good as the other two now.

Just as thought, a 2nd hand M6 is a lot more affordable than a 2nd hand MP.

Thanks for the heads on the M.P. The fact that the view finder is even brighter is a huge as I do a lot of low light. And I just like the biggest brightest view finder possible. Yesterday , I went through the "I love my M.P" thread. :p. After the 2nd page I started to get my head around the fact that the lecia M.P would be a perfect third M body.

I picked up a National Geographic bag to today to fit my two lecia bodies and 4 lenses and a 10 rolls of film. Great little bag and there is still room for one more M body. Both the M3 and the M6 where such fun fun to use out in the field. Im looking forward to seeing the results tomorrow.
