misha Posted November 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am based in new york but currently on assignment overseas. I was back in new york for a week and drove to Allendale to have them look at what i thought was a dead pixel or two. I also left 35 cron there as well. Later that afternoon they called to say that the CCD has to be replaced and to my surprise the focusing mount on the lens was off. That was Monday. Both camera and lens were ready for pick up on Wednesday afternoon. Luckily all still under warranty. excellent job both custumer service rep (Sarah) plus technicians. misha PHOTOGRAPHY BY MISHA FRIEDMAN

3rdtrick Posted November 25, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 25, 2009 Glad you had a good experience with them. I did too, had to take my new M9 for rangefinder focus adjustment. They fixed it while I waited and also checked all (both) of my lenses. I enjoyed looking at all of the literature in the waiting room and had not finished with that big lens book before they brought my camera back. I hope I don't need it again but I am glad to know they are so close. I was amazed how small it was but I guess that is a good thing... Pete
brill64 Posted December 2, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 2, 2009 oohh, yes! i think i saw the dead pixels on your fractured skull pics. i love your images. i guess it depends whether they have the spare parts in stock or on order. i've been waiting months for leica to deliver a replacement ccd so that i can "drop-in" for a repair before the warranty runs out
