Michael-IIIf Posted November 30, 2009 Share #21 Posted November 30, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's great, and it allows you to customise things so that you can tweak your processing to suit your own methodology. I really like then reminders to rotate the tank etc A very slick App and worth the £6. It's only £3.49 now I thought this was a joke when I first saw it. Who would pay good money for an app that tells me the time? I have that function on my wrist watch - the same watch that has been perfectly good for this task since I started cooking my own back in the seventies. But curiosity got the better of me and I downloaded it today. Interesting, I've often wasted £3.50 on less.

menos I M6 Posted December 12, 2009 Share #23 Posted December 12, 2009 Thanks for the tip on the dev chart app guys. This is really simple mathematics - last time, I stocked up on film in the shop and bought a Jobo tank, the friendly people from the shop offered me a development timer. It was basically a cheapo countdown timer with LCD and beeps after each countdown ran down. The cheapo device was 6.50 EUR, the iPhone app was I think 5 EUR and I do not have to jumble around for different push develop times on the net. It does make hand developing more consistent as it not only times down your development times with each chemical, but also visualises standing and agitating times and waits after each complete step for you to change your chemicals and just press a button. This app is an absolutely priceless tool, that allows even changing all variables and saving them with notes to your liking. Priceless, I would pay much for for such a well working tool than just 5 EUR. No body forces people to buy a iPhone, so use your egg timers, pens, paper and gut feeling for your developing needs - there is nothing wrong with that ;-) I was a great sceptic towards the iPhone for a long time but finally gave in as my Win Mobile devices had horrendous synching issues I solved for good with this item. There are surely people, who use it in a gadgetry fashion with games, and all, not getting off the darn thing for a minute. For others though, it is a great helper with certain tasks. My most used one is the mail app, which works beautifully as advertised and saves me time and hassle on the road, I would spend otherwise in the office. It frees up time, I can shoot more film ! Can you believe that?
