symmetron Posted November 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Had the sensor on my D2 replaced earlier this year by Leica. Hadn't really used it much until lately, but it seems that the camera focus was sharper before the sensor was was replaced. I use the camera in autofocus and everything else seems fine other than a new piece of dust in the viewfinder resulting from the replacement. Anyway, I remember reading that when the sensor is replaced, it needs to be shimmed into focus. If it's not done properly, slightly less focus may result. Any feedback? Advertisement Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Hi symmetron, Take a look here D2 focus slightly less sharp after sensor replacement. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted November 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 16, 2009 No similar problems, symmetron. Have you tried manual focus to see if you get expected sharpness?
cbretteville Posted November 17, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 17, 2009 Mine is fine too. Talk to Leica. Carl
daveleo Posted November 17, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 17, 2009 my D2 is fine focusing, after sensor replacement, but the distance markings on the ring are incredibly inaccurate. AF and MF images are sharp as ever.
