clam2033 Posted November 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just got a 21mm summulux. I used it on the M8.2 and on the Capture 4 software, the lens is shown up as a 21mm f1 and not f1.4. Is this a common problem and is it serious? Grateful if anyone else has any advice on this. Thank you.

Jiukuic5609 Posted November 23, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 23, 2009 Do you have the lens detect function on? It may not be reading the 6-bit code. I have a uncoded 28mm Elmarit and the EXIF data says that it is a f/1 max aperture. Are you getting the proper focal length in your EXIF? Post a pic with it and I'll take a look. adan Posted November 23, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 23, 2009 When I use my 35 f/1.4 pre-ASPH and use the M9 menu to identify it, it comes up as "f/1.0" in ACR EXIF, even though the full name description right above it says "Leica 35mm Summilux f/1.4" - in some cases it even identifies a "Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 (IV)" as "f/1.0." Heck, I just found a shot ID'd as a "Summicron-M 35mm f/2 (IV), where the EXIF also says the exact aperture used for the shot was "f/1.5" =8^o
